Import your customers from a spreadsheet or another app

Upload a CSV export, decide where each column goes, and review the rows before anything is saved.

If your customers are in a spreadsheet or another field service app, export them as a CSV file and import them. Any column layout works; you decide where each column goes.

Before you start

  • Export your customer list as a CSV from your current system. A spreadsheet can be saved as CSV.
  • Import customers before jobs. Imported jobs are matched to customers that already exist rather than created new.
  • Import data is in Settings, which owners can open.

How it works

  1. Open Import data and choose Customers.
  2. Choose the source system — Spreadsheet, Jobber, Housecall Pro and others — upload your CSV and choose “Continue”. Use the same source name when you import an updated export later, so existing customers are recognized.
  3. Decide where each column belongs. Matched columns are ready. Keep a highlighted column as a new customer field, match it to an existing field, or ignore it; nothing highlighted is dropped until you choose.
  4. Review the rows and run the import. Any rows that couldn't be imported are listed with the reason.

The same steps import jobs, estimates, invoices, recurring services, your service catalog and orders.
